OUR WORK

1

CHILD AND FAMILY WELFARE

ADI commits significant resources to the operation, sustenance and support of existing children orphanages across Africa, and the direct sponsorship of children/family welfare in rural communities and refugee camps in East and West Africa.  This is achieved through scheduled regular basic need provision package delivery (food, water, nutritional supplements, personal hygiene & sanitation supplies, clothing & shoes, shelter, bedding and mosquito nets);  aimed at rehabilitating and nourishing orphaned, displaced, as well as children living in extremely difficult family circumstances.  Shipped welfare packages also include books, writing materials, toys and fairly used surplus Canadian household items and equipment to households in Africa where they can find treasured usage. This humane surplus resources re-distribution significantly facilitates recycling, saves Canadian government recycling costs and benefits the environment; making this initiative a win-win situation.

2

EDUCATION, LEARNING AND RECREATION

ADI is actively involved in the provision and/or equipment of educational facilities, such as schools and libraries with books, writing materials, backpacks, computers, running shoes, etc., in orphanages and rural areas of Africa in dire need. Our Non-profit provides trade apprenticeship, career counseling and character mentorship initiatives (e.g. Commit-to-Character) to teachers and students in Africa, through Canadian Schools’ Board volunteers and African-Canadian role models.  Provision of various sports and recreational equipment to enhance the well-being of students, children and youth in rural Africa.  Provision of education scholarships to promising but heavily disadvantaged students whose dreams of career success will be impossible without a helping hand.

3

HEALTH CARE & MEDICAL SUPPLIES

ADI passionately commits resources to the provision of healthcare, sanitation and medical supplies (Surplus resources from Canadian hospitals and medical facilities) to rural clinics, as well as health education in rural Africa geared towards the prevention, treatment and eradication of prevalent communicable diseases such as Malaria and cholera.
